Currently I'm in the process of expanding the plugin system to allow for new plugin features. The first new plugin I added to the vanilla peerchan repo is a Gateway Rate Limiter plugin, which can limit the posting rate through the gateway when in gateway mode. This is disabled by default but can be turned on the node operator. The next plugin I'm thinking of but which is still partly developed, and first requires further expansion of the plugin system, is a regex post filter, which applies not only when posting via the gateway interface at the gateway interface, but at the post validation step before database insertion.
